Gameweek 23 Top Picks – Fantasy Premier League

In this guest article, top FPL manager @FPLSid picks out one player from each of this weekends GW23 fixtures. These 10 players should be considered for your Sportito lineups for this weekends daily fantasy football contests

Chelsea vs Leicester City

This one is a no brainer. Marcos Alonso is in fine form; He’s averaging 8.83 points over the last 6 games. He has 15 goal attempts, 12 big chances created, 15 shots on goal and 8 shots on target. Leicester with their style of play will give Chelsea plenty of chances and I expect Alonso in this form to reward owners.

Palace vs Burnley

Has to be Wilfred Zaha, he’s only behind Hazard, Salah and Alexis for penalty area touches over the last 6 GW’s. He’s created 14 chances in those games, had 4 shots on target and not had anything to show for it. There is an explosion imminent and thus he’s my pick for the week for this game.

Huddersfield vs West Ham

29 penalty area touches, 3 big chances created, 13 goal attempts from inside the box all over the last 6 Gw’s, 46 points even after missing one of the last 7 games (6.57 PPG). In a match where I had no gut pick and didn’t fancy anyone particularly, Marko Arnautovic is my weekly choice.

Newcastle United vs Swansea City

No player stands out in this game, I’m going to go ahead with a gut pick, Christian Atsu is the one I’d look at from this game. 19 penalty area touches and 8 goal attempts over the last 6 games make him a decent punt from this otherwise not so exciting game from a fantasy football point of view.

Watford vs Southampton

Richarlison de Andrade is the one, he’s been getting very close recently and I’d put it down to poor luck that he hasn’t been able to give the returns to his owners. Explosion incoming. 14 goal attempts and 3 big chances created over the last 6 games is an indication of his future returns.

West Brom vs Brighton

12 goal attempts, 7 shots in the box, 19 penalty area touches and a goal in his last game, Anthony Knockaert could be the one to go for in this game.

Spurs vs Everton

I’d have played safe in another situation and gone with the man of every hour Harry Kane but no striker has scored versus Everton in the last 10 Games in the league and I’m going to go with my gut and say its not going to happen this week as well. I fancy Dele Alli to be a force in this game against an Everton side that I think have lost the early form they showed under new management.

Bournemouth vs Arsenal

This could be the last game Alexis Sanchez plays for Arsenal, he looked lively coming on in the league cup and I fancy him to tear Bournemouth apart. His stats are outstanding over the last few games, 26 goal attempts, 15 shots inside the box over the last 6 games and 6 PPG make him very desirable against a weak Cherries team.

Liverpool vs Manchester City

Mo Salah is the man, fresh from a long rest even though due to injury, if he’s on form I feel he could do well versus City. I fancy him to score to add to his already impressive tally.

Manchester United vs Stoke City

6.83 PPG in the last 6 games, 4 goals, 17 goal attempts, 24 penalty area touches, 9 shots inside the box, 4 big chances created all over what’s been a fantastic December for Jesse Lingard make him an easy pick in this game versus a manager less stoke side. He’s one of our must-have picks this weekend.
